With such a noble vision in mind, Dr. Sheela Sharma Memorial Charitable Trust, Mathura was brought to life on 11th April, 1984.
Dr. Sheela Sharma, an illustrious visionary, passed away at the prime of 30, due to the lack of medical facilities. Shaken up by this devastating truth, Dr. S K Sharma, thought of carrying forward Dr. Sheela Sharma’s dreams of mitigating the suffering that mankind is going through.
Diagnostic & treatment facility
Shankar Institute of Cancer Therapy & Research is promoted by Dr. Sheela Sharma Memorial Charitable Trust in the memory of Late Dr. Sheela Sharma, the illustrated Lady Doctor succumbed to untimely death on 4th September 1983 for want of adequate diagnostic & treatment facility for acute abdomen (Rupture Tubal Pregnancy). The hospital is located on the Masani Link Road Mathura near National High way-2. The land for the project was allotted free by the district Administration.
Our Objectives
To be a pioneer in cancer cure and research through innovation and being sensitive to the environment in which we all exist specially in western UP
- To provide state-of-the-art treatment to all cancer patients at affordable cost irrespective of caste, creed, and socio-economic status.
- To offer free treatment to the poorest and set aside 10% of beds and services for this purpose.
- To reduce the incidence of cancer in the rural areas and detect cancer in early stages through various interventional Standards.
- To reduce mortality rate of masses, caused by health issues and inadequate healthcare facilities.
- To provide medicine at highly subsidized costs.
- To develop a centre for research under eminent scientists and medical professionals so as to drive the research activities towards reducing the burden of cancer in the society, improving treatment standards and academically remaining in the cutting edge of science.
- To make treatment affordable by reducing the basic cost of treatment and enabling the patients to obtain state-of-the-art contemporary treatment.
